David’s route took in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal. His stories of cultural diversity, wealth, poverty and hospitality are extraordinary.

Commenting on his return Rupert Foster our MD said: “It is tremendous to have David back, we missed him in the office but there is no doubt that the adventure has been a tremendous experience for him. It is good timing as Codex has recently launched its proactive tech division which David will be responsible for leading!”

Welcome back David…

This week Codex celebrated the start of the festive period with a two phase party. An amazing secret Santa came to the office with gifts galore. Then we moved on to Bounce near Chancery Lane where we had food, drink and a monumentally competitive, all staff, table tennis tournament.

Many thanks to everyone who came – Happy Christmas!

Codex Global Limited recently worked with MairDumont together with linguist Anja Fülle on the translation of a new book It’s on the Meter (www.itsonthemeter.com), an account of three friends on an epic five year, 43,000-mile global road trip in a black taxi!

Commenting on the project management of the task, Jamal Sreiss the Codex Global German In-Country Manager said: “It was a pleasure working with MairDumont and Anja. The amount of work was considerable but with careful planning we met the agreed schedule and budget. This was certainly a unique job and we are proud to have been involved.”

The annual tekom show was the reason for a Codex delegation to visit Stuttgart at the beginning of the week. Keeping up with the latest innovation and having regular meetings with our software suppliers is a key requirement for our tech team.

Rupert Foster our MD was a delegate at the inaugural Plunet Customer Advisory Board Meeting, the session was extremely beneficial for all parties and concluded with the famous Plunet cocktail party!

Codex Global takes the responsibility for the development of young people very seriously. Each year we select a school leaver to join the team for a week to gain vital real-life experience of the work place. This year we were joined by Monty Merchie, Monty an A level student at Ripon Grammar in North Yorkshire is an accomplished linguist, scientist, musician and sports man.

We created a week-long package during which Monty worked in the production, sales and vendor management departments. The experience was beneficial for both Codex and Monty and we heard this week that he has started to investigate studying Arabic and international studies at University and is setting his sights on a career at The Foreign Office.

Good luck Monty please stay in touch. We look forward to welcoming a new student next year..
